Compay Segundo: The oldest member of the band at the age of 90, Segundo also grew up in Santiago but was born the mountains of Siboney. A guitarist and tres player since the 1920's, Segundo is best known for inventing an instrument called the armonico, also known as a trilina. It is a seven stringed lute that doubles the D string and combines aspects of both the guitar and tres.

Manuel "Guajiro" Mirabel Vazquez: A professional trumpter player since the early 1950's, he has toured with the likes of Jose Feliciano and Oscar de Leon.

Orlando Lopez Vergara "Cachaito": In Cuba, the words "Lopez" and "bass" are often used interchangeably. Cachaito comes from a line of Cuban bass players, including his father and uncle, and names the acoustic bass as his instrument of choice. He has been playing since the age of twelve and deeply adores jazz.
